New THRIFT SHOP opens to benefit Benedictine Sisters

In today’s tough economic times, it is good to know that a new, high-quality second-hand store has opened to provide another option for savvy shoppers.  Owned and operated by Benet Hill Monastery, the new “Sisters’ Thrift & Boutique” is located at 8674 North Union Boulevard in the Union Center, just south of the Albertson’s store at Union and Research.  All proceeds from the store will benefit the ministries and work of the Benet Hill Sisters. Store manager Sandy Bauers has extensive experience in opening and operating thrift stores.

“We will sell upscale used clothing and household goods donated by the community,” said Bauers.  “We have already received a number of donations, and will offer a fantastic selection of items for our Grand Opening on September 29. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The store will also be open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In addition to store manager Bauers, Sisters’ Thrift & Boutique will be operated by a staff of volunteers.  Volunteer opportunities are available to interested people with knowledge of retail sales.
